On March 26, 2024, Marcelline “Jean” Johnson met Jesus. When speaking with Jean, you knew the only thing more important than her family was her faith. Her unwavering faith in Jesus Christ assures us today that she is reunited in Heaven with her daughter Angie. One of Jean’s favorite scriptures can be found in the book of Ephesians. “Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” Ephesians 6:11
Jean lived a full life with her wonderful family. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. In addition to her family, she retired after a successful career working with special needs children at Shepherd ISD. She treated each student as if they were her own family.
Jean was born in Elton, Louisiana on February 10, 1943. She is preceded in death by her parents, Andreas and Delphine Miller, her sisters Viola Miller and Deola Marks and brother, Harlwin Miller and daughter, Angela Jean Baker.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 64 years, Arvil James Johnson, Sr., son Arvil “James” Johnson, Jr., grandchildren Bridgette Nicole Vickers and Max James Johnson and great-grandchild, Aubrey Jane Vickers, sister Linda Miller, niece Gina Smith and nephew Shannon Smith, along with numerous other family members and dear friends.
She will be missed by many, but we imagine she is in Heaven now with a Route 44 Sonic Dr Pepper with extra ice.
