May 23, 1956 – January 7, 2021

 

     Jimmy George Ruiz, 64, of North Zulch, Texas passed away Thursday, January 7, 2021. Funeral Services are set for 11AM Monday, January 11 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Hearne. Father Ramon Frayna will officiate and burial will follow at the San Jose Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM Sunday, January 10 with a 6PM Rosary in the Chapel of Trevino-Smith Funeral Home.

     Born May 23, 1956, in Hearne, Texas he was the son of George and Josephine (Lara) Ruiz. He enjoyed gardening and being outdoors. Raising chickens and German shepherd’s were his passion. Jimmy proudly served his country in the US Army eventually retiring after 26 years as a CSM. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather and will be missed by all who knew him.

     He is preceded in death by his parents George and Josephine; and a brother, Jimmy Ruiz.

     Jimmy leaves behind to cherish his memories, his loving wife of 46 years Emilia (Lara) Ruiz; three daughters and their husbands, Stephanie Kirchhefer and Sean, Lara Phelps and Kevin, and Jamie Ruiz; two brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Anna Ruiz, and Stephen and Diana Ruiz; four sisters, Martha Castilleja, Rosie, and Rudy Castilleja, Mary Cortez, and Georgie and her husband Ronnie  Jutson; seven grandchildren, Stephan, Victoria, Lauren, Kain, Gabriel, Jayden, and Tristan; as well as one great-grandchild, Sophia.
