Erik Garcia Obituary

Father Will Straten will officiate and burial will follow at Mt.Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday,  August 2,  from 5 to 8PM with a Rosary Service recited at 6pm in the Chapel of Trevino-Smith Funeral Home.

Born on September 25, 2001 in Bryan, Texas, he was the son of Ramiro Solís García and Yael Sánchez Valero. He enjoyed all kinds of music, whether it was reggaeton, country, tribal, cumbias, guapangos, or norteñas. He also liked video games. For those who didn't know Erik, he was a cheerful person who always had a smile on his face even though he was shy and awkward. After the passing of his mother 4 years ago, he still wore a smile that would light up our world and shine light on our grieving lives. He was the baby of the family. For those who didn't know Erik, he was a fun loving and energetic person. He kept his feelings to himself, but always showed his good smile and good spirit to others. We will always remember those days when we used to tribal dance. together and the days when he went to work with us. Always giving us good memories, our dear little brother. Although my blood did not run through Erik's veins, he knew how to win Betsy's motherly love, with his greatest respect, his humility and how he was always willing to help. Your smile always brought joy to our hearts, you will never be forgotten. When someone first met him, they knew he was a friendly and fun person. He liked to make people laugh with his jokes. With open arms, he made you feel welcome to the family. When Erik tried to say his first words, they were not in Spanish or English, but he talked a lot with his loved ones. And since nobody understood him, we called him “Chainis”... We are going to miss his laughter and his presence very much. And many happy memories we shared with him will never be forgotten.
Erik leaves behind to cherish his memories, his beloved father, Ramiro García, and his stepmother, Betsy Luque; two brothers, Eduardo García and wife, Esmeralda, and Ramiro García Jr., and wife, Yuilsa Lara; a sister, Melissa Garcia, and husband, Elmer Melgar; two adorable nephews, Aaron Garcia and Brandon Melgar; and numerous friends and family.
