Maria "Chita" Elena Sauseda

Maria Elena “Chita” Sauseda, at the age of 71, was called home on Wednesday July 4, 2018. She was surrounded by lots of love and her family. Funeral services are set for 11AM Saturday, July 7 in the Chapel of Trevino-Smith Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

       “Chita” was born on February 21, 1947 to Gilbert and Margaret Barba in Austin, Texas. There at the age of 20, she met and married the Love of her life of Marcelino Sauseda, Jr. They moved to Bryan, and she made it her home.

“Chita” devoted her life to her husband, her children and grandchildren. She loved nothing more than spending time visiting with family, listening to music and discussing genealogy. She was best known for her willingness to open her heart and her home to so many.

       “Chita” is preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Marcelino Sauseda Jr; her parents; her in laws Marcelino and Lilia Sauseda Sr; and her grandson, Cameron D Wagner ; she leaves behind, six sons, Marcelino and Anna Sauseda , Tony and Olga Sauseda, David and Claudia Sauseda, Michael and Annette Sauseda, Stephen and Bonnie Sauseda and Jesse Sauseda; three daughters,  Laurie and Rudy Trevino, Marie and Corbett Flores and Elizabeth and Nicholas Berlen; two siblings; Rudy and Linda Barba, and Mary Sylvia Marquez; 23 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.
