         Maria Sofia Gomez, 84, of Bryan passed away Saturday, January 26, 2019. Funeral services are set for 12PM Monday, January 28 at Santa Teresa Catholic Church. Father Victor Mayorga will officiate and burial will follow at the Rest-Ever Memorial Cemetery in Bryan. Visitation will be from 5 to 8PM, Sunday January 27 with a 6PM Rosary in the Chapel of

Trevino–Smith Funeral Home.

         Born September 13, 1934 in Santa Rita Michoacan, Mexico she was the daughter of Ramon and Nicolasa (Medina) Gomez. Maria enjoyed cooking, music, being with her family, and she was always generous and giving towards others. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

         Her parents; her husband of 64 years, Silvestre Rosas; two sons, Antonio Rosas and Jorge Rosas precede her in death.

         Maria leaves behind to cherish her memories, two sons, Vicente and Ramon Rosas; three daughters, Maria Guadalupe Rosas and husband Martin Contreras, Estela Rosas and husband Salvador Correa, and Maria Carmen Rosas and husband Javier Alvarez; two brothers, Isauro Gomez and Manual Gomez and wife Guadalupe Perez; four sisters, Carmen Gomez, Virginia Gomez and husband Joaquin Nino, as well as Magdalena and Esther Gomez; twenty one grandchildren and twenty two great grandchildren.
